OSU Waivers
Teaching and Research Assistantships:
The university awards assistantships. The terms of the appointment and the amount of the stipened vary by departments. Service is expected for assistantship appointments. Information regarding the application process should be addressed to the department in which the appointment is desired.
Non- resident graduate students who hold assitantship appointments of one-fourth time or more may have the out of state portion of their tuition waived. Questions on assistantships should be addressed to the department in which the appointment is held.
Spouse Tuition Waivers:
Spouses of non-resident students who are on departmental assistantships may receive a waiver of their out of state tuition. Contact the Registrar's office (Lori Morris) at (704) 744-6866.

Academic Common Market
The Academic Common Market of the Southern Regional Educational Board enables states and their higher education institutions to share specialized graduate and undergraduate academic programs. More than 1200 programs at over 130 colleges and universities are currently available to residents of:

- Kentucky
- Louisiana

- Mississippi
- Oklahoma
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Virginia
- West Virginia
Students from the above states benefit from paying in-state tuition rates in the FEMP Program.
